Job Summary

As a Senior Data Governance Specialist, you are ready to drive complex data management thought leadership and astound the world through your skills. You love continuously researching and learning new technologies, processes, and solution methods that will dramatically improve our solution delivery capabilities. 

What you'll get to do:

You will be a member of a Data Management group of creative, open-minded, and highly skilled individuals.  The Data Management group delivers data management solutions frameworks that institutionalize best practices and advanced development processes. The core responsibilities of each specialist within the data management group are as follows.

Core operational functions

  1. Principal Consulting with clients on Enterprise Data Management initiatives
  2. Data Management and Governance Consulting
  3. Business Process And Governance Extension Discovery and Analysis
  4. Advisory on technical data platform architecture
  5. Work closely with and guide our delivery teams to ensure close alignment with end-to-end processes and solutions
  6. Establish integrated relationships with appropriate Infostrux teams
  7. Mentoring and knowledge-sharing
  8. Observation and information gathering (feedback loop)
  9. Establish training programs related to specialization (onboarding, certifications)
  10. Participate in the creation of a strategic and tactical operating plan
  11. Participate in the creation of client proposals
  12. Create documentation and IP related to Data Management, Data Governance, and Business Process Optimization
  13. Drive thought leadership - public speaking, articles, prototyping, etc..

What you’ll bring:

  • Passion for process quality and execution excellence
  • Ability to bootstrap Data Governance initiatives for clients
  • Strong consulting skills, ability to interface with Executives
  • Ability to coach clients through use-case-driven metadata management implementations
  • Ability to create and publish reusable patterns and process improvements to be implemented across the whole organization
  • Strong Knowledge of DAMA, DMM and other data management maturity frameworks
  • Follow the trends and newest technologies in data catalogues, data governance, architecture, quality assurance, automation, modelling, master data management, and data methodologies and bring them to practice where appropriate
  • Creating and Linking Business Process Modelling to Technical Elements
  • Good knowledge of data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA Privacy Act Canada, Bill 64 (highly desired)
  • Self-organized and able to work in unstructured environments.
  • Champion our delivery execution and client engagement model
  • Thorough knowledge of Data Governance Frameworks and implementation
  • Strong metadata management experience (business and technical focus)
  • Strong experience utilizing metadata for automation and abstraction
  • Strong knowledge of Data Security frameworks and controls
  • Strong experience with formal (traditional, modern) process methodologies for designing and delivering complex data management solutions
  • Strong data modelling skills, experience building ontologies and knowledge graphs (desired)
  • Strong experience with object-oriented paradigms
  • Experience implementing modern data catalogues such as data.world, atlan is a plus
  • Strong experience with business engagement at a project level 
  • Software engineering experience (desired)
  • Information Science background is a strong plus
  • CDMP or other Data Management certs are a plus
